Merchandiser

We’re not one brand or one type of team. We’re a fast-growing global company made up of many disciplines – all working toward a shared goal: to power great brands, experiences, and people.

About the role:

The Merchandiser is responsible for managing and optimizing our technology powered merchandising platform, with a focus on defining brand rules, brand voice, and content guidelines that drive the tool’s automated outputs. This role sits at the intersection of ecommerce strategy and technology, requiring a deep understanding of brand identity and the ability to translate that identity into structured rules and parameters within our platform. The ideal candidate is an innovative thinker who is comfortable working in a tech-forward environment, is passionate about retail commerce and enhancing the customer journey, and has the skillset to leverage technology to elevate the customer experience at scale.

Your daily tasks will include:

  • Serve as the primary owner of brand rules and brand voice configurations within the technology merchandising platform, ensuring all generated content accurately reflects brand standards

  • Monitor competitor ecommerce experiences and emerging AI merchandising trends to inform platform strategy and rule-set updates

  • Develop and document standard methodologies for configuring and maintaining merchandising outputs across all sales channels

    • Own end-to-end product cataloging leveraging the technology platform to build and enrich listings

    • Responsible for ensuring products are accurately set up, live on site, and optimized for discoverability and conversion — including complete and accurate product attributes, imagery, categorization, and metadata

    • Define, document, and continuously refine brand voice guidelines, tone parameters, and content rules that are input into the platform to ensure consistency across all consumer touchpoints

    • Leverage analytics and reporting dashboards to evaluate the performance of content, identify opportunities for rule optimization, and improve merchandising outcomes across product categories and sales channels

    • Conduct weekly reviews of product and category content to validate accuracy, brand alignment, and business relevance; adjust platform rules and inputs accordingly

    • Configure and manage product featuring, sort logic, and promotional rules across all digital sales channels

    • Partner with UX and development teams to apply data-driven navigation and taxonomy recommendations that improve discoverability and conversion

    • Review, edit, and approve product and website copy, providing structured feedback to refine brand rules in the platform and ensure outputs meet conversion and SEO goals

    • Maintain catalog data integrity across all channels, ensuring AI tool inputs (product attributes, metadata, categorization) are accurate and up to date

    • Regularly audit outputs on the site, identify errors or off-brand content, report findings, and collaborate with technical teams to refine platform rules and improve overall UX & conversion

Your qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2+ years of experience in an ecommerce or retail setting; experience working with AI tools, content management systems, or merchandising platforms strongly preferred

  • Comfortable learning and adopting new technology platforms; prior experience with AI-powered tools, prompt configuration, or rules-based content systems is a plus

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Extremely detail oriented

  • Strong copywriting and editorial skills with the ability to evaluate AI-generated content critically and define rules that produce on-brand results

  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and adapt to a dynamic work environment

What we offer:

  • Energetic, collaborative work environment in Over-the-Rhine

  • Competitive pay and benefits: health, dental, vision, and life insurance

  • Unlimited PTO

  • 401k with company match

  • Personal and professional development opportunities
