The role

To support the rapid expansion of the Ideals VDR line of business in Japan, we are looking for an Account Executive (BDA) based in Tokyo. Joining our team of three on the ground in Tokyo, you will proactively prospect outbound opportunities, acquiring new customers with the ultimate goal of closing deals.

As a front-line, quota-carrying team member, you will actively reach out to new customers and oversee a pipeline of opportunities. Engaging proactively with C-suite and key account decision-makers across Finance, Banking, and other sectors, you will contribute directly to our growth story in the Japanese market and work closely with our Country Director, Japan.

Tech stack we use: Hubspot, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Amplemarket, Clay.

Office location: Marunouchi Nijubashi Building (hybrid/remote-first).

Note: While in-person client visits are required for business meetings, day-to-day work can be done from home.

What you will do

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers in Japan

  • Deliver sales targets by focusing on new customer acquisition

  • Proactively build and manage a pipeline, working with strategic accounts in Japan and constantly developing new opportunities

  • Actively contribute to the execution of the sales and marketing strategy

  • Take part in arranging M&A Community events, enhancing Ideals’ visibility

  • Deliver compelling product presentations to clients

  • Structure, negotiate, and close deals

  • Consistently share insights and provide updates to customers

  • Provide relevant customer feedback to the product development and management teams

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Inside Sales to grow customer satisfaction and the company’s revenue

What you bring

  • At least 1-2+ years of experience in a full 360 closing role, within the B2B or professional services sector

  • Experience in Tech, SaaS, or Finance industry

  • A track record of successfully managing pipelines and closing deals

  • Outstanding business communication skills to structure persuasive pitches and navigate client discovery

  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese with Business English

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with key players and market trends in the finance industry

  • Experience communicating with the C-suite

  • Experience in high-velocity sales environments and ability to effectively engage with C-Level

  • Experience in the SaaS and VDR industry

  • Advanced proficiency in English
