The role

To support the next stage of Ideals VDR growth in Switzerland, we are looking for a Business Development Associate based in Zurich.

Joining our DACH Field Sales team, you will proactively prospect outbound opportunities, acquiring new customers with the ultimate goal of closing deals.

As a front-line, quota-carrying team member, you will actively reach out to 30-40 new customers monthly, overseeing a pipeline with 50+ opportunities. Engaging proactively with key account decision-makers across Finance, Banking, and other sectors, you will contribute directly to our growth story in Switzerland.

What you will do

  • Own the full sales cycle in Switzerland, from self-generated pipeline to closed deals

  • Deliver sales targets by focusing on new customer acquisition

  • Create and develop new opportunities through cold outreach, networking, events, and in-person meetings

  • Build relationships with decision-makers across financial institutions, advisory firms, and other strategic Swiss accounts

  • Consistently share insights and provide updates to customers

  • Take part in arranging M&A Community events, enhancing Ideals visibility

  • Provide relevant customer feedback to the product development and management teams

  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Inside Sales to grow customer satisfaction and the company’s revenue

What you bring

  • 1+ years of experience in business development, sales, client-facing, or other commercial roles within B2B or professional services

  • Clear interest in new business and outbound work

  • Early signs of hunter mentality and comfort reaching out to prospects proactively

  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and interacting with business stakeholders

  • Ability to build pipeline through cold outreach, networking, or other proactive prospecting methods

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to create interest, ask good questions, and build rapport

  • Native German

  • English C1

  • Based in Zurich or within realistic commuting distance

Nice to have

  • Background in M&A or investment analysis roles

  • Exposure to financial or advisory environments, either through sales or client-facing roles

  • Fluency in an additional European language
