The role

Ideals is among the Top-5% of all companies on RepVue, as rated by Sales professionals. The Sales team has been a driving force behind our steady 30%+ YoY growth, consistently generating millions in revenue.

To support the rapid expansion of the Ideals VDR line of business in Japan, we are looking for a Business Development Manager / Account Executive (hunter sales) based in the Tokyo office. As a founding member of our Japan Field Sales team, you will proactively prospect outbound opportunities, acquiring new customers with the ultimate goal of closing deals.

As a front-line, quota-carrying team member, you will actively reach out to new customers and oversee a pipeline of opportunities. Engaging proactively with C-suite and key account decision-makers across Finance, Banking, and other sectors, you will contribute directly to our growth story in the Japanese market.

The role is remote initially, transitioning to hybrid once we establish a local team and co-working space in Tokyo later in 2025.

What you will do

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and industry influencers in Japan
  • Deliver sales targets by focusing on new customer acquisition
  • Proactively build and manage a pipeline, working with strategic accounts in Japan and constantly developing new opportunities
  • Actively contribute to the execution of the sales and marketing strategy
  • Take part in arranging M&A Community events, enhancing Ideals visibility
  • Deliver compelling product presentations to clients
  • Structure, negotiate, and close deals
  • Consistently share insights and provide updates to customers
  • Provide relevant customer feedback to the product development and management teams
  • Collaborate with Customer Success and Inside Sales to grow customer satisfaction and the company’s revenue

What you bring

  • 4+ years of experience in a full 360 closing role, within B2B or professional services sector
  • Experience in high-velocity sales environments and ability to effectively engage with C-Level decision-makers
  • A track record of successfully managing pipelines and closing deals
  • Outstanding business communication skills to structure persuasive pitches and navigate client discovery
  • Native-level proficiency in Japanese with advanced English (B2+ level)

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with key players and market trends in the finance industry
  • Experience communicating with the C-suite
  • Experience in SaaS and VDR industry
