The role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Event Marketing Manager based in Shanghai to lead our event strategy across the APAC region and expand our market presence. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end planning and execution of high-impact events – both virtual and in-person – designed to elevate brand awareness, foster customer engagement, generate qualified leads, and drive revenue growth.
In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure seamless event execution, aligning with our demand generation and lead acquisition strategy. Your expertise will be critical in crafting tailored event experiences for the financial services sector, including investment banking, private equity, M&A, and corporate finance.
What you will do
- Design and lead event strategies tailored to financial audiences, including bankers, investors, and legal advisors
- Plan and execute exclusive, high-impact events for C-level finance professionals and dealmakers.
- Secure industry-relevant speakers to position our brand as a trusted authority in dealmaking
- Drive targeted attendee acquisition to attract potential clients and strategic partners
- Facilitate networking opportunities such as roundtables and 1:1 meetings that generate business leads
- Host webinars and hybrid events that address key topics in M&A, compliance, and dealmaking
- Leverage the M&A Community platform to grow our reach and visibility among finance professionals
- Track event success through qualified leads, engagement, and pipeline impact, using data to optimize future events
- Build industry relationships by attending top finance events and partnering with banks, associations, and advisors
What you bring
- 5+ years of experience in event management, PR, or communications, with at least 2+ years focused on financial services (investment banking, private equity, asset management, or fintech)
- Proven track record in event marketing, community engagement, or customer-facing roles within the financial sector
- Working knowledge of deal workflows, due diligence processes, and compliance standards in financial transactions
- Strong project management skills with the ability to execute high-impact events under tight deadlines and crisis-resolution skills
- Proven track record in B2B event planning, including webinars, conferences, and executive briefings
- Experience with virtual event platforms and CRM tools (Salesforce, HubSpot)
- Exceptional communication and ability to engage C-level finance professionals
- Fluent Chinese (Mandarin) and English (B2 level and above)
