Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated, customer-focused Account Manager for our Customer Success team, specializing in SMB and Mid-Market customers. You’ll manage a portfolio across camps, nonprofits, associations, sports clubs, and Girl Scout councils.

Your mission: deepen customer relationships, identify expansion opportunities, and drive net dollar retention through upsells, cross-sells, and renewals.

This role is ideal for an individual with at least 2 years of experience in account management or customer success, focusing on upselling and renewals, who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to grow with an early-stage company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of SMB and Mid-Market accounts to ensure adoption, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner, building trust with stakeholders from executive leadership to operations managers.
  • Drive expansion by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities (e.g., sub-accounts, per diem cards, processing features, Chapter Tracker).
  • Lead renewal conversations, negotiate contracts, and secure multi-year commitments.
  • Partner with onboarding specialists to ensure smooth transitions from sales to account management.
  • Act as the customer advocate, relaying feedback to Product, Operations, and Leadership.
  • Leverage Salesforce and internal tools to track activity, manage pipeline, and forecast opportunities.
  • Deliver proactive business reviews and share best practices to help customers maximize Crowded.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience in Account Management, Customer Success, or a related client-facing role (SaaS or fintech preferred).
  • Experience with SMB or Mid-Market organizations, ideally in nonprofits, associations, sports clubs, or camps.
  • Proven ability to manage renewals, upsells, and cross-sells.
  • Excellent communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills.
  • Comfortable with complex, multi-chapter customer structures.
  • Organized, proactive, and detail-oriented.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM systems.
  • Ability to travel monthly to Crowded’s Fort Lauderdale office if located outside the immediate area.
