As a Corporate Senior Tax Accountant your role will be to manage tax compliance, tax planning, and reporting across various tax jurisdictions in the US. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic mindset, a deep understanding of US tax laws, and the ability to oversee and drive tax operations effectively.
What you’ll be doing…
- Corporate Tax Preparation: Prepare and review corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations. Identify and implement tax planning opportunities to optimize tax liabilities.
- Sales Tax Preparation: Manage the accurate and timely preparation of sales tax returns. Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations across multiple states and jurisdictions.
- Withholding Tax Preparation: Oversee the preparation and filing of withholding tax returns. Ensure compliance with withholding tax regulations and timely remittance of payments.
- Tax Planning and Strategy: Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and maximize tax benefits. Provide guidance on tax implications for business decisions and transactions.
- Tax Compliance and Reporting: Ensure compliance with all tax laws and regulations. Prepare and review tax-related documents and reports for accuracy and completeness
- Internal Controls: Develop and maintain internal controls related to tax compliance and reporting.
- Audit Support: Assist with tax audits and inquiries from the IRS. Provide documentation and support for tax positions taken on returns.
- Monitoring Legislation: Stay up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the organization. Advise on any potential adjustments required to maintain compliance.
